Establishment of five diagnosis and treatment centers

1.
Regarding endoscopic resection for early-stage gastrointestinal cancer, the Fukuyama Medical Center’s endoscopy center boasts the highest case number in the Bingo region and is working on further improving this technology.

2.
The minimally invasive treatment center is actively involved in endoscopic surgery for gastrointestinal cancer, lung cancer, and prostate cancer as well. The annual number of endoscopic surgeries on the spine is approximately 250, the highest in the Bingo region.

3.
The Fukuyama Medical Center’s neonatal center operates the Bingo region’s largest neonatal care wing (12 NICUs and 12 GCUs, a total of 24 units) and is a facility recognized by the Japanese Society of Pediatric Surgeons, the only one in the Bingo region with three fulltime pediatric surgeons. Coordinating medical care with the Fukuyama Cardiovascular Hospital and the Ota Memorial Hospital Brain Attack Center located nearby, we have begun a regional medical partnership for comprehensive neonatal and pediatric care in the Bingo region and we are planning the creation of a comprehensive perinatal maternal and child medical center.

4.
The annual number of surgeries at our spine and artificial joint center exceeds 1,000 and we are working on further increasing the number of surgeries through infrastructure improvements such as surgery frames.

5.
Our head and neck tumor center, opened this year, has invited Hiroaki Nakatani (former director of the head and neck department at the Tochigi Cancer Center and former associate professor at Kochi Medical University), Japan’s foremost expert on head and neck tumor treatment, and the center offers broad integrated treatment for all types of head and neck tumors, including surgery, intravascular treatment, and chemoradiotherapy.
