For International Patients

Effective from April 1st, 2018, patients of non-Japanese nationality will be required to present their Residency Card or passport, together with their Health Insurance ID Card when visiting our hospital for the first time.
* Except patients with Permanent Residence or Special Permanent Residence in Japan.

Fukuyama Medical Center is designated as a Japan International Hospitals by the Medical Excellence Japan Foundation (MEJ). With the goal of better understanding the situation of international patients in Japan, MEJ requests that we provide numbers of patients by nationality. We do not provide any other information (such as name or birthdate) to MEJ.

Please note our policy for international patients who are not enrolled in Japanese public health insurance, for reasons such as residing outside of Japan. As a general policy, in order to facilitate the smoothest and safest possible medical treatment, such patients are required to apply though a medical treatment coordination company.
* Patients who are not enrolled in Japanese public health insurance will be billed 20 yen per Medical Fee Point.

Fukuyama Medical Center has a medical coordination service partnership with Emergency Assistance Japan Co., Ltd. (EAJ). Accordingly, any application to Fukuyama Medical Center for medical treatment of a patient who is not enrolled in Japanese public health insurance may only be processed between EAJ and Fukuyama Medical Center. Such patients must apply to EAJ instead of applying directly to Fukuyama Medical Center.
