Resection Scope of Pancreatoduodenectomyoperation

Broadly speaking, the pancreas is divided into a head, body, and tail. The pancreatic head and other organs, such as bile ducts and the duodenum, are entirely resected by this operation.

Applications of Pancreatoduodenectomy

Benign or malignant diseases in the pancreatic head area

  • Pancreatic head tumors
  • Bile duct tumors
  • Duodenal ulcers
  • etc.
Pancreatoduodenectomy Procedure

Resect stomach at the pars pylorica ventriculi.
Resect extrahepatic bile duct including the gallbladder at the porta hepatis.
Separate the duodenum from the retroperitoneum.
Resect the duodenum at the proximal jejunum.
Resect the pancreas between pancreatic head and pancreatic body.

Post-pancreatoduodenectomy Reconstruction Procedure

Connect the pancreas and the jejunum via anastomosis.
Connect the bile ducts and the jejunum via anastomosis.
Connect the stomach and the jejunum via anastomosis.
Perform intra-jejunum anastomosis.
Lastly, insert the drain and close the abdomen.

Laparoscopic Pancreatic Tail Resection

operation
Trocars, tubular tools to facilitate insertion of surgical instruments, are placed at five incisions in the upper abdomen. The operation is performed by inserting surgical instruments via the trocars.
Resection Scope of Pancreatic Tail Resection
operation
Broadly speaking, the pancreas is divided into a head, body, and tail. The pancreatic tail and the spleen are both resected by this operation. There is also a surgical method which preserves the spleen.
a benign tummor or a low malignant potential tumor of the pancreatic.
  • Neuroendocrine neoplasm
  • Solid Pseudopapillary neoplasm
  • Intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm
  • etc.
Automated Suturing Instrument used for Pancreatectomy
Pancreatectomy is performed using an automated suturing instrument containing integrated tissue reinforcement material made with PGA sheet.operation
Laparoscopic Pancreatic Tail Resection Procedure
  1. Separate the pancreatic body from the retroperitoneum.
  2. Using an automated suturing device, resect the pancreas between the pancreatic head and pancreatic body.
  3. Using an automated suturing device, resect the pancreas between the pancreatic head and pancreatic body.
  4. To insert the drain and close the abdomen.
