There are many pediatricians specializing in children’s gastrointestinal diseases overseas, but as of yet, only a few in Japan. The Pediatric Gastroenterology Medicine Department is one of Fukuyama Medical Care Center’s newest facilities. We presently accept outpatients once a month for treatment of children’s gastrointestinal diseases, with specialization in pediatric gastrointestinal liver disease. We conduct diagnosis and treatments on the whole digestive system from the stomach, small intestine and large intestine to rectum and anus, providing care for hepatobiliary and pancreatic diseases, and coordinate with the Pediatric Surgery Department to provide post-transplant care for liver and small intestine transplant patients. Specifically, we offer a wide range of diagnostics and treatments for diseases that cause symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, bleeding, and jaundice.
