Hepatobiliary pancreatic surgery

About us

Our hospital has been approved as an advanced skill training facility for the Japanese Society of Hepato-Biliary- Pancreatic Surgery (JSHBPS). Here, medical staff study and practice advanced skills under the instruction of accredited JSHBPS advanced skill training doctors.

In liver surgery, we aggressively perform extended hepatectomy surgeries, even for advanced cases of hepatoma. For liver metastasis of intestinal cancers, we strive to improve the prognosis by adding chemotherapy sessions before and after surgery, to prevent recurrence of the cancer. We also perform laparoscopic hepatectomy, where we make every effort to minimize invasion.

In the biliary tract, we perform extended surgery for gallbladder cancer and hilar cholangiocarcinoma. As benign diseases of the biliary tract, choledocholithiasis and gallbladder adenomyomatosis are famous, and we conduct laparoscopic cholecystectomy (performed with only 34 small scars) and single hole laparoscopic cholecystectomy (with only one scar). We select the most suitable treatment method depending on the nature of each case, making it possible for patients to leave the hospital within 35 days after surgery.

In pancreatic cancer cases, we perform radical operation treatment, supplemented by chemotherapy before and after surgery to improve prognosis. For inoperable cases, we perform chemoradiotherapy to reduce the tumor, increasing the possibility that surgery may be implemented at a later time. For low-grade pancreatic tumors, we utilize laparoscopic support to provide minimally invasive surgery. On Wednesday mornings, Dr.Inagaki and Dr. Kitada accept outpatients. On Thursday mornings, Dr. Inagaki and Dr.Tokunaga perform specialized outpatient consultations.
