The Otolaryngology / Head and Neck Surgery Department handles diseases throughout the entire field of otolaryngology, and also serves as the primary department of the Head and Neck Tumor Center, which diagnoses and treats a variety of malignant tumors that occur in the head and neck. The head and neck, our department’s area of specialty, contain organs responsible for various critical functions (such as diet, conversation, and respiration) and senses (such as visual, auditory, olfactory, and taste) that we rely upon for everyday life. Let us not overlook the cosmetic importance of the face. For these reasons, our department works not only to treat cancer, but also provide treatments with consideration of the function and beauty of the head and neck.
