For disorders isolated to the skin, dermatological treatment may suffice, however, in some cases, it will be necessary to closely collaborate with other departments such as internal medicine, pediatrics or plastic surgery. Some cases are diagnosed only by examination, while other cases may require skin biopsy. Even with the same diagnosis, reactions to treatment methods and therapeutic drugs varies. Because of the rapid onset of aging in Japanese society, increasing numbers of patients suffer from skin issues. One of our hospital staff serves as secretariat of the Fukuyama Dermatology Association, and we strive to improve dermatology practice by holding regular case studies and academic lectures with dermatologists, dermatology practitioners and doctors with interest in dermatology in the Fuchu, Onomichi and Kasaoka area.
