These fields are broadly divided into esophagus, stomach, large intestine / small intestine, anus, hepatobiliary pancreas, hernia, and ileus. We perform scheduled surgeries daily, and also respond to emergency cases. We performed over 1000 surgeries in 2013, and the number of surgeries is expected to continue to increase.

We hold weekly early-morning preoperative and postoperative conferences, which include presentations on surgical procedures. We also hold a cancer board discussion with medical staff of the Internal Medicine Department every week, to discuss each case comprehensively and decide upon unbiased treatment policies. These meetings allow us to cooperate closely with other departments, and we make the best of these relationships in our daily medical practice. Moreover, we also conduct a weekly expert conference on gastrointestinal tract surgery and hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery, studying each case in depth.
